When you are choosing a PTC (paid to click) and PTR (paid to read) to be a part of, the most important thing you should do is DO YOUR RESEARCH!!

If you, for example type in PTC or paid to click reviews, you will find sites dedicated to reviewing PTC sites.

There are genuine PTC sites out there, but when you are choosing one don't get swept away by what they are offering. The more they offer, the bigger the chance of you being ripped off, so here are some guidelines to help you on your way.

1. Check what they charge for advertising. This will be and indication of how much they can afford to pay. So if for example they charge $19.95 for 1000 clicks there is no way they can afford to pay the people clicking on the advertising more that $0.01c per click and make a profit. There are sites that claim to pay you $200 per e-mail etc; THEY DON'T, it's that simple. If you have joined one of these particular sites, use your credits for advertising as that is the only way they are redeemable.

2. Check the language and spelling on the PTC site. If the site is in english check spellings. Remember there is a big difference between typos and incorrect spellings. Eg: Which or witch.

3. If possible, and you know someone who is already a member ask them if they have been paid, and if they have and can prove it, pay them the compliment of joining under their url. If it's a good paying site, no one is going to mind being asked if they have been paid or not.

4. If you do join a program and you decide to upgrade, always use a payment facility that will protect you just in case it's a rip off.

5. Don't expect to make HUGE money from each ptc program. Chances are you will only get between 0.01c to 0.05 per click. However if you are involved in more than one program you could make a small residual income.

6. If you have suspicions about a particular ptc 'google it' seriously if they are dodgy or unreliable there will be something in a forum or blog about it, and you will find it.

Remember ptc and ptr programs will NOT make you a millionaire, but if you join some decent ones you have a chance at making a small amount of money. Be careful, and if you do come across scam sites, let people know, blog about them, open up threads in forums, let people on your social network know. The quicker these scam sites are revealed, the quicker they will stop ripping people off.
